Humble beginnings... Bread and Butter Silver Factory originated in August of 1993, a year after Marsha Clark Sierra graduated with a degree in fine arts from Syracuse University and urged her parents, Bob and Martha Clark, to spend their retirement years with her starting a jewelry business which could be operated from their home studio. We started by setting up shop in a small corner of the garage. Our first month of sales were transacted out of a wood wine box with a rope handle. We thought the symbolism of bread and wine were meaningful at the time! What’s in a name? Since it was to be the source of Marsha’s income and Bob and Martha’s retirement income, or in other words - the source of our “bread and butter”, the name seemed an appropriate choice and also depicts the happiness and lightness with which we view the business and our lives. Marsha had gone on to pursue her career in management within the jewelry industry in New York City but has returned to critique, design and lend a helping hand in the family business once again. Bob and Martha sell from home as well as at craft shows around the country. We are all busy but our development remains one of our top priorities, consequently all three of us have enhanced our skills in jewelry making through further study. We hope you will join the thousands of others who enjoy wearing our jewelry and giving it as welcomed gifts. About Our Jewelry Our jewelry is all hand forged and hand assembled, one piece at a time. In their own way each piece is a one of kind. Our Mission Statement “Our goal is to provide our customer with fine quality sterling silver and/or 14k gold jewelry that they will take pleasure in wearing and be proud to present as gifts. We value our customer’s business and our good reputation.”
